Designers, Join In!

Would you like to get some experience in preparing designs for the web? Would you like to make a public library website, or for that matter this site, look better? Do you like public libraries? Would you like help them out, especially now that their services are greatly needed but their funding is being cut? If so, you should contact us.

No one is being paid to work on this project and we don't have funding to pay you. But we will give you credit for your work. While all the sites are currently assigned to designers, that doesn't mean the designers that are already involved wouldn't like some help.

If you want to know how the sites are designed, they all use the same XHTML template. For those of you who have done some web design and have written CSS, all the sites have the same <div>s in the same order with the same classes and ids. All the graphical design elements are linked from the CSS, not the XHTML. You could capture the source for this page and the associated CSS if you want to try out your own design. If you do, let us know.
